Third Avenue PlayWorks (TAP) has announced its five-show 2026 season, which includes the world premiere of The Call List by Brian James Polak as part of the World Premiere Wisconsin Festival.
The season starts with Heroes from April 22 to May 10. The dramedy follows three World War I veterans living in a retirement home in the 1950s and plotting their escape, despite war wounds and clashing personalities.
The summer season kicks off with Moonlight and Magnolias from June 3 to 21. The comedy goes behind the scenes as a filmmaking team frantically rewrites the script for Gone With the Wind within a tight schedule.
Up next is Red Herring from July 15 to Aug. 9. With six actors playing 18 roles, the noir comedy follows a hardboiled detective solving a murder mystery that involves Soviet spies and nuclear espionage.
The world premiere dark comedy The Call List is next from Sept. 23 to Oct. 11. In it, a dispirited legal assistant is tasked with calling people on a list left behind by a man who died by suicide.
Finally, TAP presents It’s a Wonderful Life: Live in Door County from Dec. 2 to 27. This iteration of the classic Christmas film was adapted by local actor, director and playwright Neil Brookshire.
Season subscriptions go on sale in February. For details, call 920.743.1760 or visit thirdavenueplayworks.org. TAP’s Steve and Jackie Kane Theatre is located at 239 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay.
