Calling all theater enthusiasts, literature lovers, and the community at large to the 11th Annual WinterWorks Play Reading at Third Avenue PlayWorks in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The annual WinterWorks Play Reading series features four contemporary plays to run each Saturday in February at 7:30 p.m.

Pay-What-You-Will Preview

Those interested in attending the preview to support this organization, may arrive as early as 6:30 p.m. on the evening of the performance for general admission seating. Space is available on a first come, first served basis. Donations may be made in cash or with checks made out to Third Avenue PlayWorks. Half of the proceeds will benefit this show’s Community Partner.

Wine Nights

Ticketed event held the first Thursday of each show’s run 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm in the theatre lobby including 3 wine tastings from Von Stiehl Winery and a full glass pour.

Opening Night Reception

We hold an opening night reception on the first Friday of each show's run. Desserts are served prior to the show starting at 6:30pm and you'll want to stick around afterwards for a champagne toast from Jacob Janssen, our artistic director. The actors will also join the patrons in the lobby for a chance to mingle. Each opening is truly worth celebrating, so please join us!

Dive deeper into a production at Third Avenue PlayWorks in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. At one of our Post-Show Conversations, you'll have the opportunity to hear from the director, actors, and/or designers about bringing the production to the stage. Winter Market

Third Avenue PlayWorks welcomes the return of the monthly pop-up Indoor Winter Market in partnership with Destination Sturgeon Bay to coincide with Sturgeon Bay events including Christmas By the Bay, the opening weekend of TAP’s A Christmas Carol, the Fire and Ice Festival, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. We're looking for vendors from artists and crafters to producers, who would like to showcase their original, quality products in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

Typically held the third Wednesday of the month, subject to change, 3:30pm-4:30pm at the Sturgeon Bay Library. Read the play ahead, then join the Play Reading Club for a discussion led by Jacob Janssen, Artistic Director of Third Avenue PlayWorks. Join the Play Reading Club in person or on Zoom.

Door County Learning in Retirement is dedicated to facilitating quality lifelong learning in an open, ongoing forum for retired or semi-retired adults in Northeastern Wisconsin. Revisit familiar topics and explore diverse and exciting new possibilities in the DCLIR catalog of classes. Registration remains open throughout the term.
