About the Play
Two actors. A bare stage. A journey into madness. Before the Mountains of Madness brings to life a harrowing Antarctic expedition where the ice hides more than cold-something ancient, something watching, something beyond the mind of man. With the power of storytelling, two actors conjure an entire world of horror. On a stark, empty stage, they transport audiences to the frozen abyss of the Antarctic, where an expedition in the 1920s unravels into a nightmare. What begins as a thrilling quest for knowledge becomes a cosmic mystery and a descent into madness. Based on and treated as a prequel to the HP Lovecraft novel “At the Mountains of Madness.”
