Door Kinetic Arts Festival (DKAF) has announced several additions to its 10th anniversary season, taking place the week of Sept. 20.
The new programming includes Jennifer Vosters’ award-winning solo show, Songs Without Words; a collaboration with Milwaukee Repertory Theater on Katie Dahl’s new musical, The Northeast Corner; and partnerships with Third Avenue PlayWorks and Cupola Café.
Vosters will perform Songs Without Words in anticipation of its upcoming run at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, where the play is part of the theater’s 2026-27 season. Written and performed by Vosters, Songs Without Words tells the funny, tragic, heartfelt story of sibling composers Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn.
DKAF will also join forces with Milwaukee Repertory Theater to collaborate on the development of The Northeast Corner, a new musical by Door County songwriter and performer Katie Dahl.
Festival pass-holders will have access to The Call List by Brian James Polak – developed at DKAF three years ago – during its world-premiere production at Third Avenue PlayWorks in Sturgeon Bay.
DKAF will also expand its popular gastronomic programming. Author and cocktail historian Robert Simonson will return to conduct his annual cocktail workshop, this year at Cupola Café in Egg Harbor. Cupola owner and chef Ryan Ibsen will also introduce DKAF’s first-ever Art of Cuisine.
The new programming joins a 10th-anniversary season that includes Manual Cinema’s The Daemon; a workshop of Terry Moran’s play The Baghdad Gentlemen’s Club; Sophie Minouche Allen’s dance work This Is Not a Lifesaving Device; and additional performances, workshops and public conversations.
