On Deck Clothing Company is celebrating forty years in style, but owner Mitch Larson’s family history in Door County dates back several generations. Mitch’s great-grandmother, Mrs. Wenzel Bunda, owned and operated a grocery store in Sister Bay in the late 1800’s. Wink Larson, Mitch’s father, was an early entrepreneur in Door County as well. Having been a skier for most of his life, he brought skiing to Door County at Nor-Ski Ridge, which opened in 1959.
On Deck Clothing has found a home in the scenic communities of Door County, including Fish Creek, Sister Bay, and Sturgeon Bay. Since opening in 1986, the company has built a reputation for offering high-quality, casual apparel that reflects both comfort and coastal-inspired living.
In 2025, On Deck Clothing became one of the first stores in Wisconsin to carry a curated selection of L.L. Bean brand products, which has a reputation for high-quality, functional outdoor gear, including men’s, women’s, and kid’s apparel, footwear, and accessories. The collaboration feels like a natural fit.
“Both brands have stayed true to their roots in quality, function, and the outdoors,” said General Manager Mert Larsen.
The store features products from over two hundred brands, blending recognizable names like L.L. Bean with boutique collections to create a well-rounded shopping experience. From laid-back resort wear to polished everyday essentials, the focus is on pieces that are both stylish and wearable.
Beyond the clothing, On Deck embodies the relaxed yet refined spirit of Door County. Whether you’re exploring the shoreline, enjoying a weekend getaway, or simply looking for dependable everyday fashion, the store offers something that fits seamlessly into that lifestyle.
Rooted in tradition and delivering consistent quality, On Deck Clothing is open year round offering a shopping experience that feels distinctly local.
