Third Avenue PlayWorks (TAP) will present A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play from Dec. 3 through 28 at TAP’s Steve and Jackie Kane Theatre, 239 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay.
The family-friendly production is an authentic 1940s radio experience with colorful characters, inventive sound effects and musical underscoring. Based on the novella by Charles Dickens, the play was adapted for the stage by Joe Landry, with music by Kevin Connors. This iteration, directed by Elyse Edelman, stars Cassandra Bissell, Neil Brookshire, Brian Grimm, Ray Jivoff, Dan Klarer and Rána Roman.
The show’s run starts with a pay-what-you-will preview to benefit the theater’s education program on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Next is a sold-out final preview on Thursday, Dec. 4 and opening night on Friday, Dec. 5. The play starts at 7:30 pm on Wednesdays through Saturdays and Tuesday, Dec. 23. Matinees start at 2 pm on Sundays, and Dec. 12, 24 and 26. The Dec. 12 matinee will also feature a talkback with the production team.
Attendees are encouraged to bring shelf-stable pantry items to donate to Feed Our Neighbors. Donations can be left in the box office lobby through Dec. 31, and anyone may take what they need during regular box office hours, Monday through Friday, from 10 am to 4 pm, or one hour before a performance.
