Audiences attending Third Avenue PlayWorks’ (TAP) pay-what-you-will preview of Moonlight and Magnolias will also have the opportunity to help fund a local film production.
At TAP’s recent 2026 season launch party, representatives announced their new partnership with the Amphibious movie and Film Green Bay, Inc. Amphibious is written and produced by Door County native Kurt Krauss, who is working closely with director Michael Sajbel as they hope to meet a production budget of $300,000 before principal photography begins.
Through their community partnership program, TAP will share half of the donations accepted at the June 3 preview performance, along with any donations collected through the closing of the show on June 21, with the independent feature film.
Moonlight and Magnolia is a behind-the-scenes comedy about the filming of Gone with the Wind. The pay-what-you-will preview of the show will take place on Wednesday, June 3, at 7:30 pm at TAP’s Steve and Jackie Kane Theatre, 239 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay.
Following the preview performance, Krauss and some of the Amphibious pre-production team will return to TAP on Friday, June 12, for a special talkback session with the audience following the 2 pm matinee.
Amphibious follows a high school freshman who has spent his life hiding his syndactyly, a condition that causes webbed fingers and toes, until he learns it could help him on the swim team.
In 2023, Krauss’ project joined forces with the nonprofit Film Green Bay, Inc., allowing Amphibious to receive donations directly through Film Green Bay’s fiscal receivership program. Those interested in supporting the film through this organization can make a tax-deductible donation.
