Check Out TAP

Community Ticket Access Program
Check Out TAP is a community ticket access program in partnership with Door County Libraries that is designed to make theatre accessible to everyone in our Sturgeon Bay and Door County communities. Check Out TAP provides tickets to those who might not otherwise be able to attend our shows and is made possible through a grant from the United Way and Kohler Foundation.

About Check Out TAP
We know that for the more than 30% of Door County households, a theatre ticket can be financially out of reach. With so many families struggling across the county to afford basic necessities, access to theatre may feel like a luxury. Central to our mission at TAP is making theatre by and for our community, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone in our community can be a part of our audience. We have seen firsthand the impact of bringing together diverse audiences, and the power of someone seeing a live theatre performance for the first time. Live theatre brings people together, breaks down barriers, and is an incredible tool for dialogue and community building.
TAP is deeply committed to working collaboratively with Door County organizations. We believe that theatres have the capacity to play a central role in communities, much like the library, where people are welcome, engage in dialogue, and connect with their fellow community members. As Door County’s only year-round professional theatre, we are dedicated to making work for everyone in this community and sharing it through programs like Check Out TAP!
This program is made possible through generous grants from the Kohler Foundation and United Way of Door County and by partnership efforts with Door County Libraries.
How Does Check Out TAP Work?
With a membership to Door County Libraries, patrons can “check out” tickets to see a show at Third Avenue PlayWorks. All you need to do is visit the counter at one of the eight Door County Library branches within two weeks before you’d like to see a show and ask to Check Out TAP!
- You’ll receive a pass that can be redeemed for two tickets to one of our five shows throughout the season.
- Call our box office during regular business hours to make a reservation for your preferred date and let us know you have a library pass.
- Bring your pass to the box office up to one hour prior to the show’s start time to exchange for your tickets to the show.
- Enjoy the experience and feel free to share your thoughts on social media! #theatreworthtalkingabout
Patrons are limited to no more than one “checked out” performance per season.
