Dan Klarer, Education Coordinator at Third Avenue PlayWorks

Dan Klarer has been working with Third Avenue PlayWorks since 2012. Over that time he has lent his talents as an actor, fight director, stage manager, costume designer, house manager, and most recently as a director and educator. Dan has always been an advocate for theater in Door County having worked multiple jobs at its four professional companies (Door Shakespeare, Northern Sky Theater, Peninsula Players Theatre, and TAP). He lovingly coined the term “The Door Four” and leads a theater seminar of the same name at Bjorklunden each summer in Baileys Harbor.

Dan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama from UW-Stevens Point and his Master of Arts degree in Acting from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. As an educator, Dan has been teaching acting, stage combat, movement, voice, clowning, Shakespeare, and improvisation for over 15 years. He has taught theater across the country and strives to develop arts programming to promote community growth and integration as well as provide a place for lifelong learning here at TAP. “Theater education is human education.”
