Third Avenue PlayWorks (TAP) will host spring theatre workshops led by TAP Community Engagement and Education Coordinator Dan Klarer.

Classes will be available for adults and teens. The suggested class fee is $150 per student, but both workshops operate on a pay-what-you-will structure, with scholarships to ensure nobody is turned away due to cost. Registrants will have the option to pay the full class fee or a partial fee, or select a full scholarship that covers the entire cost.

Adult classes will be held on Mondays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm for six weeks starting March 2. With a focus on public speaking, the workshop is for anyone who would like to explore the craft of performance, whether they want to learn the fundamentals of stage acting, overcome stage fright, or enhance communication and presentation skills for work and life.

Teen classes will be held on Sundays from 2 to 4 pm for six weeks starting March 1. Through experiential theatre games and acting exercises, young actors will learn the fundamentals of stage acting and explore a range of theatre techniques, including improv, physical storytelling, clowning and stage combat.

Instructor Dan Klarer brings two decades of experience to these workshops. He recently spent time as an interim lecturer of acting at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, teaching movement, voice, scene study and acting for camera.
