NEW & RETURNING EVENTS AT TAP FOR THE 2026 SEASON

Sturgeon Bay, WI (April 16, 2026) – Third Avenue PlayWorks (TAP) welcomes the return of Pay-What-You-Will Previews, Opening Night Receptions, Sturgeon Bay Library Play Reading Club, and Check Out TAP while also adding new events including Wine Nights and Young Professionals Networking. The season kicks off April 22nd with the first event during the run of Heroes by Gérald Sibleyras and adapted by Tom Stoppard.

 

PAY-WHAT-YOU-WILL PREVIEW

On the Wednesday prior to opening night, patrons can attend the 7:30 pm show with any donation amount. Seating is general admission and doors open at 6:30pm on these previews. Space is available on a first come, first served basis. Donations may be made in cash or with checks made out to Third Avenue PlayWorks. Half of the proceeds benefit each show’s community partner.

     • April 22 – Heroes Community Partner is Operation Not Alone

     • June 3 – Moonlight and Magnolias Community Partner is Amphibious Movie/Green Bay Film

     • July 15 – Red Herring Community Partner is Friends of Door County Libraries

     • September 23 – The Call List Community Partner is Prevent Suicide Door County

     • December 2 – It’s a Wonderful Life: Live in Door County Community Partner is TAP’s own Education Program

 

WISCONSIN CHEESE MASTERS WINE NIGHT

Meet new friends and try a new wine! This ticketed event is held the first Thursday of each run from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Guests will enjoy three tastings and a full pour from Von Stiehl Winery and complimentary cheeses from Wisconsin Cheese Masters. Tickets are $15 each and theatre tickets would need to be purchased separately.

BITE THE FARM OPENING NIGHT RECEPTION

Held on the first Friday of each show’s run for ticket holders. Gluten-free desserts provided courtesy of Bite the Farm will be served prior to the show, and a champagne toast from Jacob Janssen, Jackie & Steve Kane Artistic Director, follow. The actors will also join the patrons in the lobby for a chance to mingle.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS NETWORKING

Join other young professionals (under 40) for a fun networking mixer with cash concessions before the second Wednesday performance for each show starting at 5:00 pm. There is no cost for this networking event, but space is limited, so an RSVP is appreciated. Those who RSVP will receive a discount code to purchase tickets to the show if they choose to do so and a pair of tickets will be given away in a business card drawing to one lucky participant.

STURGEON BAY LIBRARY PLAY READING CLUB

This event is typically held the third Wednesday of every month from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Sturgeon Bay Library or via zoom. Those interested in participating can call the library at 920-746-7121 to get a copy of the script to read and then join the discussion with Jacob Janssen.

CHECK OUT TAP

Check Out TAP is a community ticket access program in partnership with Door County Libraries that is designed to make theatre accessible to everyone in the Sturgeon Bay and Door County communities. Check Out TAP provides tickets to those who might not otherwise be able to attend shows and is made possible through a grant from the United Way of Door County and Kohler Foundation. With a membership to Door County Libraries, patrons can “check out” tickets to see a show at Third Avenue PlayWorks. Members can visit the counter at one of the eight Door County Library branches within two weeks of a show and ask to Check Out TAP!
